Our Mission

The Health Innovation Organization of South Florida, Inc. also know as HIOSF is a Florida nonprofit corporation located in South Florida. Formed in January 2024, HIOSF is committed to advancing public policies that promote investment in healthcare research and development to improve the health and well-being of patients. HIOSF strives to fulfill this mission through public education, advocacy that promotes medical breakthroughs, and efforts to reduce barriers to innovation — all with the goal of improving public health and patient wellbeing.

Membership

HIOSF welcomes new members interested in life sciences innovation. HIOSF is a home for innovators from every corner of the life sciences ecosystem—companies, research institutes, individual experts, suppliers, and patients. Whether you’re developing cutting-edge therapies, advancing scientific discovery, or advocating for patient-centered care, you’ll find a community committed to making a meaningful impact. Together, we can turn ideas into life-changing realities.

One of HIOSF’s signature activities is its Lunch and Learn series in which experts share their perspective on issues affecting biomedical innovation.  Our members have received briefings on the Inflation Reduction Act, Most-Favored Nation pricing, tariffs, 340B reimbursements, federal funding, Supreme Court decisions affecting innovation, and other topics.
